Interbrand Best Global Brands Rankings

The Value Evaluation Model of Interbrand is designed by Interbrand, with the assumption that the value created by the brand is stable for some time to come, and the value of the brand is determined by calculating the brand earnings and the strength coefficient of the brand. The calculation method is: V=IxG, where V is the brand value, I is the annual average profit brought by the brand to the enterprise, and G is the brand strength coefficient.

Interbrand has pioneered brand value research in the industry since 1988. As the first brand valuation system to pass ISO10668 international certification which outlined the requirements of brand currency valuation. Interbrand's entire analytical methodology is recognized by the industry as a tool with special strategic management value. 

Interbrand launches the ranking list in every September-October.

Brand Finance

Brand Finance is one of the top five international brand valuation authority organizations. The “Global Brand Value 500” list is published once a year and produced from thousands of well-known brands around the world. The selection criteria include public familiarity, loyalty, promotional activities, marketing investment, employee satisfaction, and corporate reputation. The information used is from public sources.

Fortune World 500

The selection criteria of the world top 500 mainly include five items: the first is sales revenue. In addition to profits, assets, shareholders' equity, and employment numbers used as reference indicators, the most common and important one is the sales revenue of the company; the second is that corporate statistics must have high transparency; the third is independent corporate governance. In terms of its characteristics, independent and sound corporate governance is an important indicator. This independence includes countries that are independent of holding company or controlling families; the fourth is uniformly sorted by dollar. The Fortune magazine has consistently converted the sales revenue of the company into US dollars and then finalized the 

Collating using the average annual exchange rate of the local currency to the US dollar. The fifth is that the relevant information and documents must be submitted within the stipulated time. The Fortune magazine requires companies wishing to participate in the rankings to submit applications in advance and provide financial statements and other relevant information in accordance with relevant requirements.

Forbes Global 500

The Forbes rankings include the world's largest and most powerful listed companies based on four indicators which are revenue, profit, total assets and market capitalization. The list uses a comprehensive score. On this basis, Forbes gives the same weight to the four indicators, then calculates the total points of each company, and finally obtains the result of the company's comprehensive ranking.

BrandZ Global Top 100 Most Valuable Brands

BrandZ's approach to brand valuation is similar to that of financial analysts and accountants' evaluation. It can be called the “economic use” approach, where BrandZ calculates the present value of future income and predicts the proportion of future sales and profit growth. But analysts include the entire enterprise in their calculations, and BrandZ is only interested in the sales and profits generated by the brand.

World Brand Lab's "World’s 500 Most Influential Brands"

World Brand Lab is an international and professional brand research organization. Its research results have become an important basis for the evaluation of intangible assets in many M&A(mergers and acquisitions) processes. As the world's leading brand valuation agency, the World Brand Lab's original valuation method “Brand Value Added” (BVA) evaluation model is widely recognized by the corporate and financial communities.

The World's 500 Most Influential Brands is judged on the basis of the brand's world influence. Brand Influence refers to the ability of a brand to open up the market, occupy the market and make a profit. The World Brand Lab scores world-class brands according to three key indicators of brand influence: Share of Market, Brand Loyalty and Global Leadership. 1 point means mediocre, 5 points means extremely strong. After a half-year survey of 5,810 well-known brands around the world, the World Brand Lab finally launched the 500 most influential brands in the world based on the evaluation for each indicator of brand influence.

Establishing the status of Chinese brand and complementing world brand valuation standard with China element

The Peking University China Brand Valuation Research Platform project was established at School of Economics Peking University and integrated numerous experts and scholars from Peking University, Tsinghua University, Central Policy Research Office, National Development and Reform Commission, State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Ministry of Finance, National Bureau of Statistics, People's Bank of China, Beijing Normal University and Communication University of China, which have been perfecting over the years, forming the result of the “Chinese Brand Value Evaluation Standard”. Based on this standard, the 1st China Top 100 Brand Value Rankings and the 2nd China Brand Value Industry Rankings were successfully released, which laid a solid practical achievement for the Chinese brand value evaluation standards, and obtained the acknowledgement from corporate and academic sectors. It complemented the brand value and its practical application needed by enterprises.

China Brand Value Network(www.bvrcn.com) will hold the 3rd China Brand Value Summit Forum and 2019 China Top 100 Brand Value Rankings Release Conference at 13:30 pm on January 19,2019 in auditorium Dongxu of Schools of Economics Peking University. China Top 100 Brand Value Rankings is developed with fair, impartial and objective value evaluations conducted to numerous Chinese brands. Thus, an internationalized standard for China brand value evaluation is established to release authoritative China brand value rankings.
