Volkswagen Released the Latest Advertisement to Promote Volkswagen ID.4 GTX & ID.5 GTX

In November, 2022, Volkswagen in Germany released a new advertisement, titled "Bring Back the Energy” . This advertisement is 1minute 18 seconds long that is to promote its Volkswagen ID.4 GTX & ID.5 GTX. The video tells the story of an old lady whose life becomes sad after she sells her beloved Volkswagen Golf. Missing her Volkswagen Golf very much, she makes car-shaped cookies, keeps old photos of the red Golf, and gets a tattoo on her arm, featuring the red Golf and the word “Forever”. However, there is one thing that can brings back her - the Volkswagen all-electric GTX driving experience. When she takes a red ID4 GTX for a test drive, she feels young again and is eager to showcase her driving skills by drifting in the dealership parking lot.

According to Brand Value (China) Network, this new  Volkswagen commercial looks familiar to many viewers  because it's a continuity of a VW ad from 2010, titled “Buying a Volkswagen From an Old Lady.” The old commercial was only 52 seconds long that showed the same old lady selling her beloved Volkswagen Golf to a teenager. The purpose of the old commercial wanted to boast the reliability of the Volkswagen Golf, despite a bit of abuse from the old lady. In the video, the dad inspected used vehicle by checking the engine, the tires and the video inserted flashbacks of the lady having precarious fun with the car. 


Obviously, VW wants to show that you can have fun with its electric cars, specifically the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX and ID.5 GTX, as with those powered by internal combustion engines. According to Brand Value (China) Network, the ID.4 GTX stands for Grand Touring driving, through and through.The VW ID.4 GTX has a two-motor setup, one on each axle, that produces a total of 295 horsepower (220 kilowatts) and 346 pound-feet (470 Newton-meters) of torque. It can sprint to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) from a complete standstill in 6.2 seconds, with a top speed electronically capped at 112 mph (180 km/h)

As for the key difference betweeen Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5, the ID. brand represents the future of the VW brand that focuces on electric cars. The first ID. car to be revealed was the ID.3, a VW Golf electric counterpart and the cheapest ID.car to date. The VW ID.4 is the next one in line as it is bigger, more powerful, and an all-around upgrade to the ID.3. The ID.5 is a more stylish and sportier version of the ID.4, but underneath the skin, these two are the same. 


Volkswagen is a German automaker headquartered in Wolfsburg,Germany. Founed in 1937, it is well known for the iconic Beetle and serves as the flagship brand of the Volkswagen Group, the largest automaker by worldwide sales in 2016 and 2017. Its name is derived from the German-langauge terms Volks and Wagen, translating to "people's car" when combined.
