Brand Film “Building Tomorrow” of Volvo CE Contributing to A More Sustainable Development

       On October 14, 2017, Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) launched a series of brand films called ‘Building Tommorrow” to promote how the company is driving a more sustainable future. The first film is about 3 minutes long which shows how Volvo CE machines facilitate the building of the iconic ICEHOTEL in Northern Sweden. Since 1989, the ICEHOTEL had been rebuilt every year with the help of Volvo machines by using ice harvested from the nearby Tone River. In 2017, Volvo CE took the sustainability initiative and launched ICEHOTEL 365 - a year-round hotel made of ice, cooled by solar power.


      According to Brand Value (China) Network, Volvo CE’s "Building Tommorrow"short film was presented with a bronze award in the Brand Film Festival in London in 2018. The festival was attended by 200 of Europe’s leading filmmakers and brand builders. The award also recognized that it was increasingly harder to reach targeted customers by traditional media such as newspapers or TVs, so brand companies were developing their brand films to subtly deliver the brand’s messages. The three-minute Volvo film "Building Tomorrow " brought together a range of customer success stories from around the world such as the iconic cold ICEHOTEL in Sweden, the hot city of Lusail, Qatar and the Kouga Wind Farm in South Africa. The film also showcased how the construction industry was working more innovatively than ever before to building a better tomorrow for generations to come.


       Bill Law, senior vice president of corporate communications at Volvo CE explained the brand film in details “We chose to feature the ICEHOTEL in the brand film because it embodies the Swedish heritage of the Volvo brand. It is an innovative project, representative of its distinctive national culture, and above all, supports the Volvo CE purpose – ‘to build the world we want to live in’.” Niklas Nillroth, vice president of environment and sustainability at Volvo CE, believed that the film promoted Volvo customers’ businesses and hopefully motivated others to work towards a sustainable future too.


According to Brand Value (China)Network, Volve CE was founded in 1832. As of today, Volvo CE is a major international Swedish company which develops, manufactures, and sells equipment for construction and related industries and a subsidiary of the Volvo Group. Volvo CE's products include a range of excavators, articulated haulers, wheel loaders, asphalt pavers and screeds, compactors. Volvo CE has production facilities in the United States, Brazil, Scotland, Sweden, France, Germany, Poland, India, China, Russia, and South Korea. In 2020, Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) moved its Asian headquarters to the Jinqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone in Pudong, Shanghai. The Jinqiao Volvo CE is expected to handle half of the company's global business. According to China Brand Value Evaluation Standard, Volvo CE is among the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment.

On the ranking of “The 3rd Daguan· Keweiwei World Brand Value Top 900” released on March 18, 2023, Volvo Group’s brand value was 196.146 billion RMB, ranking the 121st.
