On Monday, November 27, 2023, Taiwan-based Foxconn announced in a stock exchange filing saying that Foxcnn would invest $1.5 billion to expand its operations in India. The investment will be made through subsidiary Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development, which has been registered in India’s Maharashtra state since 2015. According to the concurrent filing, the same subsidiary would budget the equivalent amount in Indian rupees for a construction project to fulfill “operational needs”.

According to Brand Value (China) Network, Foxconn already has a major manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, India, and has previously announced multiple projects inside India, including a $600 million project in Karnataka state and a $500 million factory in Telangana state. Foxconn has significant operations in Chinese mainland. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, Foxconn’s  business was significantly hurt and therefore Foxconn has been looking to expand outside the country. In July, 2023, Foxconn pulled out of a $19.5 billion joint venture in India that would have produced semiconductor and display components.

Foxconn, which is called Hon Hai Technology Group in China, is a Taiwan-based multinational electronics contract manufacturer established in 1974 with headquarters in New Taipei City, Taiwan, China. It is one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world, with operations spanning across Asia, Europe, and America. Foxconn has 12 factories in 9 Mainland Chinese cities, more than in any other country. The largest Foxconn factory is located in Longhua Subdistrict, Shenzhen, where hundreds of thousands of workers are employed at the Longhua Science & Technology Park, a walled campus sometimes referred to as "Foxconn City".

On the ranking of “The 3rd Daguan· Keweiwei World Brand Value Top 900” released on March 18, 2023, Foxconn’s brand value was 107.137 billion RMB, ranking the 247th.
