Xiaomi Will Launch its Electric Car on March 28

       On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi announced that it would formally launch its long-awaited electric carthe Speed Ultra 7 (SU7) sedan on March 28, 2024. The company also claimed in a social media post that "In 29 cities across the country, 59 stores have opened reservations simultaneously“. On Wednesday, Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun claimed those stores had booked 100,000 new appointments for curious drivers following news of the car’s launch. 


        In late December, 2023, Xiaomi revealed the SU7's exterior and technical features and but did not share a price or specific delivery date. In February, 2024, Xiaomi President Weibing Lu told CNBC that the company would deliver these cars as soon as the second quarter of 2024. Although the SU7 was revealed to an international audience for the first time at Mobile World Congress Barcelona, Spain, Lu said it would likely take at least another 2 or 3 years before Xiaomi started selling the vehicle overseas.

       According to Brand Value (China ) network, both versions of the SU7 boast advanced technology integration. The vehicle is equipped with Xiaomi's HyperOS system, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295 chip, ensuring seamless software connectivity. It features a large 16.1 inch touchscreen, a comprehensive 56-inch heads-up display, and a 7.1-inch instrument cluster. The car's interior is also notable for its luxurious feel and spaciousness, with a panoramic view enabled by an expansive glass area. Safety is a paramount feature of the SU7, with an armored cage-type steel-aluminum hybrid body, multiple airbags, and a comprehensive suite of active safety features. To sum up, the Xiaomi SU7 stands out for its impressive performance specifications, advanced technology integration, and commitment to safety and luxury, positioning it as a strong competitor in the electric vehicle market.


 

      In 2010, Xiaomi was founded by now multi-billionaire Lei Jun when he was 40 years old, along with six other associates. In 2011, Xiaomi released its first smartphone and, by 2014, it had the largest market share of smartphones sold in China. By 2015, it was developing a wide range of consumer electronics. In 2020, the company sold 146.3 million smartphones and its MIUI (Now HyperOS) mobile Operating system has over 500 million monthly active users. As of 2023, Xiaomi is the third-largest seller of smartphones worldwide, with a market share of about 12%. In May 2015, Mr. Lei Jun was interviewed in the wall street and somebody asked him a question “what’s the company’s secret to success?”. He answered “Even a pig can fly if it stands at the center of a whirlwind.”

 


      On the ranking of “The 3rd Daguan·Keweiwei World Brand Value Top 900 ”released on March 18, 2023, Xiaomi’s brand value was 77.918 billion RMB, ranking the 358th.
