Is Google’s Bard (LaMDA) Really a Killer Of ChatGPT

On March 21, 2023, Google announced officially the launch of Chatbot Bard, directly competing with ChatGPT of Open AI. Bard is supported by a language model called LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications) developed by Google. Bard can answer questions for customers, write draft papers for researchers, plan meetings for professionals, etc.

         According to Brand Value Network, compared with ChatGPT, Bard can inform users by finding the latest high quality answers and it means that Google’s latest AI too can give users information based on the latest events.ChatGPT usually gives the data information properly only until 2021 and it has difficulty finding the latest information because ChatGPT has been trained on data until 2021.Bard is powered by LaMDA, which is a convolutional, neurolanguage model. LaMDA is also a AI conversational model, which can be trained to read words, notice the relationship between words, and form a dialogue based on the proper context. Google said it would start rolling out the Chatbot in the United States and United Kingdom, and planned to expand it to more countries and languages in the future.

ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI and launched in November 2022. It is built on top of Open AI's GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 families of large language models (LLMs). Although the core function of a chatbot is to mimic a human conversationalist, ChatGPT is versatile. For example, it can write and debug computer programs,compose music, teleplays, fairy tales, and student essays, answer test questions.Of course, ChatGPT has some limitations. OpenAI acknowledged that ChatGPT "sometimes writes plausible-sounding but incorrect or nonsensical answers", which is common to large language models and is called artificial intelligence hallucination.

Google Inc., which was founded on September 4, 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, is recognized as the world's largest search engine company. For two decades now, Google has been the undisputed king of Warrior searches，owning 90% of  search and carries out over 8 billion search queries per day.The term “Google” has been synonymous with searching for Information. On the ranking of “The 3rd Daguan·Keweiwei World Brand Value Top 900” released on March 18, 2023, Google’s brand value was 1857.905 billion RMB, ranking the 2th.
